Join us this Sunday to hear from our special guest Dr. Scott Hinch, who leads the Pacific Salmon Ecology and Conservation Laboratory at UBC.
We are excited to announce we will have a very special Salmon Sunday guest speaker, Dr. Scott Hinch, visiting Mossom Creek Hatchery on Sept 15th at 2 pm.
Dr. Hinch and his team of researchers recently completed a 7-year study tracking the migration patterns of millions of Sockeye and Steelhead salmon from the Interior of BC, down the Fraser River and out to the Salish Sea. His award-winning research has already identified areas of concern impacting salmon migration and health. Dr. Hinch will talk about some of the challenges facing our salmon today and the important role that community hatcheries play.
We are extremely excited to have a renowned expert come to speak to our volunteers and anyone interested in the ongoing dialogue about wild vs hatchery salmon.
