Mossom Creek Hatchery 50th Anniversary Celebration

2026 marks 50 years of environmental stewardship started by teachers Rod MacVicar and Ruth Foster still hard at it along with dozens of hard working volunteers. The Mossom Creek Hatchery has grown into a significant environmental facility involved in salmon enhancement, environmental education and scientific research.

We’ll be celebrating this major milestone with the community on Saturday, September 19th, 2026 with an event at the Port Moody Galleria and Inlet Theatre. Rod and Ruth will narrate a slideshow featuring the stories and the people involved with Mossom since it began. I’m sure there will be lots of fun-filled wonderful memories.

We hope to see many Mossom alumni who attended Centennial School. We have the names of many individuals who were involved with the salmon club and the fisheries ecology program, but we are looking for their contact information. If you were involved, or know of folks who were, please reach out to us at info@mossomcreek.org . We are also hoping for photos, comments, testimonials and memory vignettes that we may put into a published booklet.
